Welcome to Mayalla, an ethical fashion brand that creates beautiful & one-of-a-kind accessories. Using upcycled Maya garments and mixing them with high quality leather. We work closely with the local community in Guatemala. Every item that we sell on Mayalla is unique and thoughtfully handcrafted by the indigenous community. We believe in ethical trade; we pay fair wages to the local community and provide them with stable jobs. This enables the indigenous community to better provide for their families. We seek to preserve the rich Guatemalan culture by sharing its indigenous handcrafted fabrics and traditions with the world. Read more about our ethical business practices here!

Mayalla stands for supreme quality, using only the finest Guatemalan leather, premium zippers & luxury hardware and the most prestige handwoven textiles for the production of our bags and accessories. We have a strong quality control and check every product before shipping it to our clients. We aim to reach perfection, even so it is not possible working with handmade products. If you do see a small imperfection, please be aware that this is not avoidable since every piece is made by hand and not by machine.

Mayalla stands for uniqueness, we want to make each of our customer feel special wearing a Mayalla. Since all our products are handmade and we are using one-of-a-kind textiles your Mayalla is a very special item that not many people in the world have. Of course, some of our textiles make more than one bag, but the number of bags that we can create out of one of the Guatemalan typical dresses (called “huipils”) is very limited.

Mayalla stands for being trendy, modern, elegant and fashionable. We are continuously studying the latest fashion trends and create truly beautiful pieces of art. The incredible textiles handwoven by the Guatemalan women make that very easy for us. We combine old Guatemalan traditions with modern bag designs. Through this we preserve their rich culture.
